Part 15 - Memories of an English Teacher in Post-revolutionary Iran

Allameh university was a good university at that time despite the fact that it was suffering from the post-revolution brain drain. There were still some good professors left and some had recently graduated from the US and had joined the university to serve their people. We took the placement test and were placed in three proficiency levels as some of the candidates were really weak and were not qualified at all to start up the program which was entirely through the medium of English. The reason was that the majority of them had passed the university entrance examination through
